Let’s Do Lunch! at CNS

Preschoolers prepare and eat a delicious lunch using fresh, local ingredients

Kids Cooking Green is an innovative, hands-on cooking program for children. It’s about health, nutrition, food preparation, the environment and the full circle of benefits of local food and farming. Kids learn how to make healthy choices and develop their own cooking skills, all in a fun and memorable way. Students will have the chance to participate in most of the cooking steps. Cutting, chopping and heating tasks will be completed by the instructors. After the meal has been prepared, they sit together to enjoy their creation.

Teachers Lori Deliso and Rose Wall, along with guest chefs and nutritionists teach the students each week a carefully planned lesson. Sample classes include: Let’s Make our own Pasta, Green Eggs and Ham, and Goats are Great!
