CNS Board Updates

The CNS Board is looking for in short (10-30 second) videos of kids and adults from the CNS community talking about why they love CNS. These will be edited/compiled into a short video which may be used for our 75th anniversary fundraising campaign, marketing the school to new families, and future marketing and fundraising campaigns, and may be shared on the CNS website and/or social media.

The Board would be very grateful if anyone interested in the project or with comments or questions about it would fill out this short Google Form:

The CNS Board of Directors is meeting several times per month to address issues related to the CoViD-19 pandemic and how it affects our school. Board meeting minutes for May 7, 2020 have just been posted and are here (along with all the older Board meeting minutes): https://cnslex.org/cns-parent-portal/

The next Board meeting is scheduled for 16 or 17 June (TBD) at 7:30 PM via Zoom. Board meetings are always open to the CNS community. If you’d like to attend, please email cnsclerk@cnslex.org so that we can ensure you receive the agenda and the Zoom link for the meeting.

CNS Community Check-In

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the CNS Community Check-In on May 5, and to everyone who sent in questions in advance. If you weren’t able to attend the meeting, a video recording is available here: Community Check-In Video Recording and meeting notes are available here: Community Check-In Meeting Notes.

If you have any questions about the content of the meeting or any questions at all about CNS’s response to the CoViD-19 pandemic, please feel free to email cnsclerk@cnslex.org or ask any member of the CNS Board. We don’t have all the answers, but we are committed to getting through this together with our CNS community!

CNS Community Connection

The nearby city of Chelsea has one of the highest rates of COVID-19 cases in all of Massachusetts.  As a result, the citizens of Chelsea are in need of support and one of the items that the littlest residents need is diapers.
You are invited to contribute to the Chelsea Diaper Bank to support this community.  All boxes of diapers (new and open boxes of all sizes), plus pull-ups and wipes are all desperately needed.  All diaper and wipe donations may be dropped off at 45 Emerson Gardens in Lexington.

We miss you all!   Have you gone on a great walk with your kids? Done a puppet show for your CNS friends via Zoom?  Have a good tip for a fabulous starting-to-get-warm activity in the yard? Share them with us!  Email cnsclerk@cnslex.org and I’ll put them in the newsletter!

Anyone need a used scooter? We have a Kixi mini 3-wheel scooter, probably best for ages 2-5, green. If you are interested, email katallen@evenmere.org

Do you have some outgrown summer toys to get rid of? Need a new stroller or water table?  Want to make a group to put in a restaurant supply shop order because your kids can’t get enough apples to last a week, but just apples doesn’t make the minimum order?
Email cnsclerk@cnslex.org and post a classified for the CNS community!

CNS Board Updates

The CNS Board has been meeting frequently (virtually!) throughout the closure to make sure that the school will be ready to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. Board Meeting minutes from all our meetings are always available on the CNS Parent Portal: https://cnslex.org/cns-parent-portal/

To update the CNS Community on the state of the school and what we know so far about what the future might bring (and to get your thoughts on changes we may want to make to our cooperative community!), our Director Sisy Thomas and our CNS Board President Kayla Poole will be hosting a CNS Digital Town Hall on May 5 2020

To accommodate the high volume of issues the Board needs to address due to the closure, the next CNS Board meeting will be a double meeting, April 29 and 30, both at 7:30 PM via Zoom. As a cooperative community, all Board meetings are open to everyone. If you would like to join the next Board meeting, email cnsclerk@cnslex.org for the meeting link and agenda.
