YBF raffle & auction items

Spring is in the air and the Yellow Balloon Fair is just around the corner! The 45th annual Yellow Balloon Fair, a day of games, activities, food, and fun, will be held at CNS on Saturday, May 13 from 10am to 2pm. It’s an exciting day for current CNS families, alumni, and non-CNS families from Lexington and beyond. The YBF committee is looking to the CNS community for contributions of items or experiences to be auctioned or raffled at the fair. Do you cook? Donate a home-cooked gourmet meal! Love to knit? Give a baby blanket! Have extra sports tickets or a vacation home… these items get top dollar!

Would your workplace be interested in sponsoring the fair or donating an experience or item? Does your family have a relationship to a business or organization that might want to sponsor the fair or donate something to auction or raffle? It all helps!!

All proceeds from the YBF benefit CNS. Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and generosity, and see you at the Fair! YBF Raffle and Auction Committee Co-Chair: Julie Fuhrer (

Hello! My son Ben is in the front room at CNS, and I’m happy to report that our family of 4 is expanding!  We now have Ben (3 1/2) and Drew (22 months old), and we’re expecting a baby girl at the end of June.  The other day I mentioned to Robbie that our family is looking for a new nanny to work with us starting in September (when I return to work after maternity leave).  She thought it would be a great idea to send you the details of the position so you could include the job description in the newsletter.  You never know who knows who, right?
Here’s some info on the position:
Seeking a Part Time Nanny in Bedford (Starting September 2017)
My husband Don and I live in Bedford and are looking for a nanny to care for two boys ages 3 1/2 (Ben, now in the front room at CNS) and 22 months (Drew), and baby girl (arriving in late June).  Starting in September 2017 we will need childcare on Mondays (2:30-9:30 pm), Wednesdays (2:30-9:30 pm), and Thursdays (2:30-6:30 pm).  Don and I are both pharmacists and we work the evening shift at hospitals (hence the later work hours).
The new nanny must have experience caring for infants under 6 months, and is comfortable caring for 3 children at the same time.  Some light housework will be required, such as cleaning the kids’ dishes after meals.  Competitive hourly rate.  Must love playing and engaging with kids!
If anyone knows a great nanny who is looking for part-time evening hours, we would love to speak with her.  I can be reached at or on my cell at 857-204-6679.
AMAZON SHOPPING Supporting CNS is easy through our partnership with Whenever you shop using our affiliate link, Amazon will contribute 4 to 10% of sales to CNS at no additional cost to you. The more items purchased through these links, the greater the percentage the CNS receives on each sale. Last school year we brought in over $2500 to the school. Let’s see if we can double it in 2015-2016! Step 1 – Shop Amazon’s wide selection by accessing it through this shortcut: or visit: and click on the SchoolRewards image. (If you do not see the image, check if your browser has ad blockers enabled and disable it.) Step 2 – Bookmark it! Step 3 – Shop often Step 4 – Share it with your family and friends Nothing comes without fine print. Here are the important details for you to know: ● Order matters: You need to link, shop, and check out, in that order. If you don’t click on our link first, but go to Amazon in your usual way, put things in your cart, and then remember to click on the link and check out – your sale will not earn us funds. You have to click our link before you put anything in your cart. ● The clock matters: If you use the link, put something in your cart within 24 hours, but don’t want to buy it right away, that is fine – the purchase will still earn us funds if you finalize it within 90 days: just remember to link before you checkout. ● One purchase session per link session: Arriving at Amazon through our link is good for 24 hours or until you actually place your order – after that, you need to link again. So if you link, complete a purchase, and then need to make another purchase, you have to link again in order for the purchase to earn us funds. ● You won’t see anything that identifies you as a CNS shopper. Don’t worry – as long as you used the CNS link and follow the order and clock guidelines, your purchase will count. Thank you for your support! Please note that Amazon is not directly supporting CNS. They are simply giving us a referral fee for sending customers their way via our website. If you want us to check on any items to make sure they are ending up on our earnings, we have that ability to see the full earnings report, however it does not link buyers to items, so your privacy is secure.

Are you searching for something to buy or borrow? Do you have something to give or sell? Is there something going on in the Lexington or surrounding community you’d like to share with the CNS community?
