"The more we help children to have their wonderful ideas and to feel good about themselves for having them, the more likely it is that they will someday happen upon wonderful ideas that no one else has happened upon before."

Director's Note

112As the beginning of school approaches, we are busy at CNS putting on the final touches on each classroom and common space, in preparation for the new school year! The new building inspires us with its clean and pleasing design - as light illuminates the school and its open design represents the connections we feel with the children and with our alumni community.

We are tremendously grateful for all of the support that we received from our community throughout the past year. The response to our requests for help were met with such generosity that together we have created a new CNS that will continue on for decades to come. Thank you.

Also, I want to share with you three new additions to our programs at CNS that we are launching this fall:

  • An Afternoon Class for 4 and 5 year olds;
  • Come Play Yoga, a unique playgroup experience for toddlers and their caregivers, that will incorporate circle time, yoga, creative movement, and free play;
  • Building rentals for Birthday Parties or other after-school events, meetings, or programs.

For more information on our Come Play Yoga playgroup or Building Rentals, please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

I hope to see you all on the 10th!

Brick Patio Now Completed!

113

We invite you to visit CNS at the upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony (or another time this fall!) to see the newly installed brick patio. Over 180 engraved bricks display messages created by current and alumni families and teachers, as well as friends and neighbors of CNS. The result is a patio that truly reflects the spirit of community - a "gathering" so to speak of everyone who has been touched by and cares for Community Nursery School.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and worked to make this patio a reality!
